GSA Student Council
At the Global School Alliance, we believe students should be at the heart of global learning and that student voice is key to shaping a better, more connected world. Our Primary and Secondary Student Councils bring together young people from around the globe to collaborate, lead and speak up on the issues that matter most to them.
Through regular virtual meetings, Student Council members:
- Develop leadership skills through active participation in student-led initiatives
- Collaborate with students from diverse cultural backgrounds, fostering global citizenship
- Enhance public speaking and presentation skills
- Be part of a team and share opinions, perspectives and ideas with a global audience
- Develop a sense of responsibility and agency in addressing social and global issues
- Contribute to discussions and ensure student voices are heard and valued
- Develop a sense of empathy, understanding and appreciation for diverse perspectives and experiences through meaningful dialogue and collaboration
What Topics Are Discussed?
Each term, students explore global themes that help them better understand the world and their place in it. Topics often include:
- Climate change and sustainability
- Equality, diversity and inclusion
- Mental health and wellbeing
- Cultural exchange and understanding
- Digital citizenship and online safety
- Careers and the world of work
Students are encouraged to share their own ideas and choose focus areas that matter to them and their communities.
