The programme blends theory, practice, reflection, and collaboration to prepare teachers for a confident start in the classroom.
Participants will:
- Explore effective, evidence-informed pedagogy for language teaching
- Develop practical classroom strategies, routines, and techniques
- Take part in hands-on workshops and collaborative activities
- Learn from experienced practitioners and mentors
- Build a supportive network with fellow MFL educators
The Conference will include a programme of practical sessions based around classroom practice and preparing for September:
- How to make a good first impression with your colleagues and the students
- Preparing for that first lesson in September
- Activities to develop the skills of Listening, Reading, Writing and Speaking in the classroom
- How to Check for Understanding
- Teaching Phonics
- From Language to Culture – bringing the world into your classroom
- Job applications – supporting you to secure your first teaching post
