As part of our globally-aware campaign, we are proud to celebrate the teaching and learning of globally-aware schools in the City of Liverpool. Gwladys Street Primary and Nursery School, a large two-form entry primary school, is one of the latest schools in Liverpool to be recognised for their outstanding commitment to developing globally-aware pupils and staff.

Situated in the Walton area of Liverpool, Gwladys Street Primary and Nursery School shares an empowering vision to “provide the stepping stones for a successful future and fulfilling future with the Gwladys Street Family, celebrating generations of success.”

With over 20 languages spoken, the rich diversity of languages and cultures are embedded at the heart of the school’s inclusive values.

On 28 March, John Rolfe MBE, Community & Partnerships Manager at the Global School Alliance, was delighted to visit the Head of EAL Fikrim Haxhifazliu and Headteacher Nicola Booth to learn more about their global work.

John Rolfe MBE, Community & Partnerships Manager at the Global School Alliance said: “We are proud and delighted to be working with the inspirational Gwladys Street Primary and Nursery School! A very internationally minded school with a range of over 20 languages spoken and a rich and wide number of countries and diverse cultural heritages represented in their unique place of innovative teaching and learning; a brilliant school at the heart of the Walton community! Many thanks to the great Fikrim Haxhifazliu for all fantastic support in bringing the world into your classrooms and to Miss Booth for ensuring that a GOAL underpins all your creative activities (Golden Opportunities for Achievement and Learning).”
