Celebrating

Globally Aware Schools

The Global School Alliance is committed to supporting schools in developing globally minded learners, deepening international connections, and embedding global citizenship into school life.

As a Liverpool-based organisation, the Global School Alliance is proud to strengthen our work with schools across the North West and beyond, providing enriching opportunities that help students see the world beyond the classroom.

To support this mission, we launched the Globally Aware Schools campaign - a celebration of schools that are embedding global learning into their ethos and demonstrating a strong commitment to developing curious and compassionate global citizens.

Globally Aware School

The Academy of St Nicholas

In 2024, the Garston-based academy was recognised by the Global School Alliance as a 'Globally Aware School' within the Liverpool City Region, and work soon began to establish a partnership with the new sister school, Southwest Campus of Shunde No. 1 Middle School.

Mr Gary Lloyd, Headteacher of The Academy of St Nicholas, said: "We are committed to providing our students with opportunities that go beyond the classroom and help prepare them for the world. This partnership with our sister school in Foshan offers a fantastic chance for both our students and staff to explore different cultures, build lasting connections, and gain invaluable international experience."
